Several Metro Atlanta counties have issued and mailed annual notices of assessments. Every year, county tax assessors mail annual notices of assessments to each property owner. Notices are mailed out between April and July.
Among the important information contained in the notice is the previous and current years’ fair market value. If you believe that the tax assessors have valued your property above fair market value for 2018, you should consider an appeal.
Appeals of the assessment value are due 45 days after the notice of assessment is issued. The appeal deadline is printed in the box in the top right-hand side of your assessment notice:
